Formerly a school which appeared in the highly acclaimed and award-winning film KEZ, this was now a brownfield site. On behalf of the client, we applied for and obtained planning permission for the erection of 2 detached houses, 1 pair of semis and 4 town houses.
Due to the sloping nature of the land, the houses were constructed with a 2-story aspect to the front with 3-story to the rear. The site presented numerous problems, including the discovery of a coal seam during excavation for the footings. This added substantially to the various complications already associated with the site.
The full development lasted in total almost 12 months. Prior to completion each property was sold off plan. The development was aptly named 'The Views' due the spectacular uninterrupted views over the Peak National Park Moors. The development enjoyed a 10-year guarantee with N.H.B.C build mark.
